Limitations of investigation
· Samples (videos) were too small to be accurate· I excluded
the Gujrati / Patois speaking participants as I did not have
the skills or the resources to include them in my investigation.
· Samples (videos) were too small to be accurate
· When I used the BSRI to verify the results of my content
analysis, I assumed that respondents kept their androgynous
traits to this day! This seems to be a safe assumption, since
a gender schema is, by definition, resistant to change. It
would take a crisis – such as the settlement experience –
to disrupt such a schema. Furthermore, Bem says that androgynous
behaviour favours the survival of the individual by making
him/her more adaptable.
Suggestions for improvement of investigation
· Larger samples to make my investigation a representative
sample· Use different participants at different locations
(out of the West Midlands)
Suggestions for further research
· To study a variety of people from various ethnic groups
· To take account of participants age, nationality, profession
and language spoken.
