Dear Friend

The programme will be:
6.15 Tea / Coffee

6.50 Treasurer’s report
7.00 Election of officers and board members
7.30 Finish.
The BE-ME (Black and Ethnic Minority Experience) is now over two years old and has recently been granted charitable status. The Foundation was established to safeguard the work that has been carried out since the project was formed in 1998, when a consortium of some twenty organisations began recording the experiences of people from the Caribbean and South Asia who settled in Wolverhampton between 1948 and 1970 in a unique archive of over a hundred video and audio interviews. Since then,
BE-ME has created a website and on-line learning packages which have been developed in conjunction with local schools, colleges the university and community groups.
Currently we are working on Phase Two; BE-ME - Our Past, Our Future. The new project will be building further on-line learning packages as well as conducting new interviews. The addition to the archives will include new interviews with second, third and fourth generation African-Caribbean and South Asian communities, as well as expanding and including other ethnic groups in Wolverhampton.
Everyone is welcome to attend this AGM but only paid-up members are entitled to vote or stand for election. New members registered before 19 November will be entitled to stand for positions on the board, make nominations and vote.
Yours sincerely
Lance Dunkley
